Forager Arts
Master the Art of Combat Through Geometry, Physics, and Physiology

About: Forager Arts
Ian Carmichael began studying Filipino martial arts and Jeet Kune Do in 2007 and has been a continuous learner since. He has participated in numerous weapons-based martial art competitions including full contact stick fighting, historical fencing tournaments, historical wrestling tournaments, and firearms force on force training. He holds several medals in wrestling, dagger, longsword, and other historical fencing disciplines. Ian has translated a number of historical texts from the 15th to 17th centuries to more deeply understand the science of arms.
He prides himself on a curriculum with no “trust mes”, instead opting to demonstrate from principles in geometry, physics, and physiology why certain methods and tactics tend to prevail in armed conflicts. Classes are organized around the ecological approach, seeking to help the learner find their own pathway through controlled chaos to skill development (with plenty of support along the way).
